SX10 2w Mid Two Wheel Drive Competition Buggy

SX10 2w Mid Two Wheel Drive Competition Buggy

By TQ Racing – Dec 12Posted in: 1/10th Scale, News

TQ Race Products proudly introduces a new product, developed from the championship winning SX10 series.  We once again looked at the r/c industry and attempted to make product that would be affordable to racers and fast on the track.

SX10 2w Mid

Mid Motor cars move the motor in front of the rear drive line to give the car a more balanced weight distribution than traditional rear mounted motors.  TQ Race Products will sell the Mid with either a saddle pack or stick chassis configuration.  The gearbox has been re-designed with an additional internal gear for the correct motor rotation all enclosed in a tight package.  Special consideration was also taken in designing a body that keeps a small aerodynamic profile.

Kit features include:

–          Full ball bearings

–          TQ’s Big Bore shocks – some of the smoothest, easiest to build shocks in the industry

–          Aluminum front brace, shock mounts, and steering posts

–          Graphite battery strap

–          Available in saddle pack or stick pack style chassis

–          Available as a kit, or conversion kit for your current SX10 2w

Part numbers:

SX10 2w Mid (stick pack chassis) complete kit – K00114

SX10 2w Mid (stick pack chassis) conversion kit – TU0284

SX10 2w Mid (saddle pack chassis) conversion kit – TU0283

About

About

Thanks for your interest in TQ Race Products.

You know our motto:  “Make it FAST.  Make it AFFORDABLE.” (c)  What you may NOT know is that TQ doesn’t just stand for speed, it stands for QUALITY – Total Quality Race Products.  We work closely with a small, dedicated band of racers across the country to update us constantly with what they like; but more importantly:  what they don’t like.  That information goes right back to our designers who immediately test the suggestions and then back out to our drivers to test.  Resulting in fast, affordable, high-quality vehicles.

TQ Race Products has been working to increase its presence in the marketplace and continue to grow the brand.  In 2010 Kenny Ferris won TQ’s First ROAR National Championship by being the Top Qualifier and Winning the 2wd Stock Class.  We have also won numberous large events around the United States and the World.  Including J Concepts Indoor Nationals, J Concepts Clash, J Concepts Northeast Nationals, Multiple rounds of the South African National Championships, and Alabama Mfg Shootout, and many, many more.  We are quickly becoming “the winningest team you have not heard of”….. but we are working to change that.

We will be adding extra features to this site over the next few months, so come back regularly.

Testing Begins!!

Testing Begins!!

TQ Begins testing new Platform!!

This weekend in separate parts of the country, TQ Racing began testing its new platform of 2wd and 4wd 1/10 electric buggy chassis.

On different types of racings surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. The new 2wd and 4wd cars hit the track in anger for the first time. Our preliminary tests are being done to evaluate the platform, confirm parts integrity and verify design concepts.

After the first day of testing here are some of the notes from the test team:

  • Local indoor track has gone to downhill for the summer.. but it is high traction… it is a rough track and this new car ate it up.
  • We went faster with this new car then the HobbyPro (TeamC) car. He was able to drive the car more strapped and broke nothing. And this was done with all parts in the box
  • This car has shown better than the old one on first day of testing. Even in this short testing I think we did get something better than the last car
  • Performance of the 4wd car was good. Track conditions were poor and very unfriendly for a 4wd vehicle. The vehicle’s performance was better than expected considering the condition of the track .
  • Having driven several of the modern 4wd cars and liking none, I will admit that this was the closest to the way a 4wd car should feel, in my opinion. It was confidence inspiring.

After one day on each of the new buggies, we have already learned a lot. Continuing development will see stage 2 chassis changes and continued material testing. 2wd Stadium Truck and Short Course testing will begin this week as well.

More details, pictures and video will be released as development continues.

2010 ROAR Off Road Nationals – TQ Wins!!!!!!!!!

2010 ROAR Off Road Nationals – TQ Wins!!!!!!!!!

By TQ Racing – Nov 11Posted in: News, Race Report

TQ Racing factory driver Kenny Ferris wins the 2010 ROAR 2wd Stock National Championships with his SX10 2w! TQ Racing also debuts the new SX10 SC Short Course Truck with team driver Travis Amezcua almost winning the 2wd Open Short Course National Championship – finishing a very close second after winning the second A Main. Mike Ziolkowski also used the SX10 SC to finish second overall and win the third A Main in the 2wd Stock Short Course class.

Kenny started the week strong by winning three of four qualifying round to take the Top Qualifying position for the event.  He followed that up by winning the first two A Mains to clinch his first National Championship – and TQ Racing’s first National Championship. Dave Neustrom also made the 2wd Stock A Main finishing 8th overall with his SX10 2w  Kenny’s TQ SX10 2w was using Tekin Electronics, motors and batteries, as well as, B-Fast diff parts. He also used TQ Big Bore shocks to soak up the bumps as the track started to break up.

Travis’ brand new SX10 SC was on rails all weekend, qualifying 4th overall – but it was the main events where the truck showed its true metal. In the first A Main he finished second.  He won the second A main with a pass leading to the final corner.  And in the third A Main, he came from being over 7 seconds behind to challenge for the win on the final lap only to come up a little short.  Not a bad debut for the brand new SX10 SC. Travis also made the A Main in 2wd Open with his SX102w finishing 10th after the triple A Mains.

One of TQ’s newest drivers Cory Crosley was the TQ and Winner of the Stock SC class, unfortunately, while Cory helped develop and set up SX10 SC’s with the team we did not have one for him to use at the event.  Cory did turn  faster laps in practice with a SX10SC than he used in the event.  Another TQ driver Ray Kindstrom made the podium in the 4wd SC class – another project we  have to look into.

We would like to thank all the team drivers and customers who have helped to support us to continue to develop and grow this product line. Special thanks to Team Manager John LoGiudice for all his hard work, making sure all the cars were in their best condition, on the grid, through tech and handling all the media requests at the event!!

SX8 Evo 1/8 Scale Nitro Buggy

SX8 Evo 1/8 Scale Nitro Buggy

By TQ Racing – Jan 1Posted in: 1/8th Scale

For 2011, TQ Race Products looks to continue on the Championship winning growth it saw last year in 1/10 racing, but going back to it’s root.  TQ’s first car was a 1/8 scale nitro buggy and new for 2011, we will introduce both a nitro and electric version of the TQ SX8 Evo chassis.

The SX8 Evo cars will both feature 7075 aluminum shock towers and chassis, a low friction drive train featuring spiral cut gears, big bores shocks, front and rear roll bars, clear lexan bodies with high down force rear wings.

Both the nitro and electric versions will share suspension arms, shock towers, bulkheads, diff cases and shocks.  Keeping the main chassis plate as the biggest difference between the two cars gives the racer an advantage of only having to carry a few spares that will work with both versions.

The design concept was to keep the car as lightweight as possible yet strong enough to take what ever terrain it is placed on with enough adjustability to make it fast for any skill level. The “Make if Fast and Make it Affordable” motto from the 1/10 side has been carried to the 1/8 side.

TQ Big Bore Shocks for SC and ST Trucks

TQ Big Bore Shocks for SC and ST Trucks

By TQ Racing – Apr 4Posted in: Uncategorized

Give your SX10 SC or SC10 T a super plush ride on these new big bore shocks with dual springs!  After using big bore shocks at such events at the 2010 ROAR Nationals and Short Course Showdown Tour – we developed big bore shocks with the correct length needed for truck use.

The dual springs will allow for a soft enough setting to handle the rough stuff, but the strength needed to keep the proper ride height the suspension needs.

These shocks are available for order now and will fit only TQ vehicles but most brands of SC and Stadium trucks on the market – if you want your truck to handle what ever the track can throw at you – now you can get that extra advantage!
